Simon is a DevOps engineer with a strong background in information security and a passion for Software Freedom. In his free time, he volunteers for the Free Software Foundation Europe by coordinating the local group Linz.
He has a very strong interest in legal and policy issues surrounding Software Freedom and has been learning and speaking about these issues for several years now.
Simon is a DevOps engineer with a strong background in information security and a passion for Software Freedom. He currently works in the field of application automation for an IT subsidiary of the Austrian social insurance carriers.
Simon is also part of the European Coordinators of the Free Software Foundation Europe, coordinating the FSFE local group Linz. This group is actively working to raise awareness for issues surrounding Software Freedom in Upper Austria and amongst other things organizes the Linuxwochen Linz.
Simon has a very strong interest in legal and policy issues around Software Freedom and has previously spoken about topics such as FLOSS licenses and open standards at both Linuxwochen Linz and fhLUG - the Linux user group at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Hagenberg Campus.
